The Sevilleta Visitor Center closes the gate after hours, but you are welcome to hike in from the parking lot trailhead adjacent to the gate.

Need to Know

The visitor center provides facilities as well as a nice shaded picnic area to rest after a hike.

Description

The Sevilleta Nature Loop is an interpretive trail that identifies many local flora that can be found on the wildlife refuge. It is the most accessible and least strenuous of the hikes in the vicinity of the visitor center, following the foothills and arroyo watersheds to the south. The trail is well marked and easy to follow.

Flora & Fauna

Many local plants are identified on the route so you can brush up on the local flora.
