Need to Know

This trail is blazed orange and is generally well marked. However, there are some places that it is not perfect and in these places, it is best to follow the signposts.

Description

This trail is an interpretive trail around the grounds of the historic Wadsworth Mansion. Signposts around the grounds provide information about the natural environment, grounds, and history of the property. It mostly follows a series of old gravel roads.

This trail is blazed orange and begins and ends at a pair of kiosks that provide information about the trails, the grounds, and the mansion. The trail heads south, past the mansion and the overflow parking. It turns eastward over the mansion's vista with views of the mansion to the north and of a small shrine to the south.

The trail turns northward and passes the tennis house and lawn tennis court. After passing the mansion, it turns eastward past a small pond. Heading into the woods, the trail heads north. Finally, it heads back to the main entrance road along White Oak Lane, a wide path with robust stone walls on either side. It returns to the main road briefly before reaching the terminus.
