Description
This unmarked trail is maintained for mountain biking with jumps, banks, and more flowy curves than a hiking trail would have. It's probably not worth hiking unless you want to make a loop with
East Fork of the Lewis River Trail. It's designed for biking downhill and begins about 0.75 miles up
Bells Mountain Trail (at an area that is much wider than the rest of the trail which helps in finding it).
From the top, the trail passes through second-growth forest along a barely visible forest road. It will cross a much more obvious forest road about 0.2 miles along so keep an eye out for the trail in the young pines. There are some raspberry fields along the trail, but it mostly stays in the woods.
You'll cross a second forest road a little over 1.5 miles along. Thereafter, the trail begins a descent alongside, and frequently crossing over, a small creek which is the only really "pretty" part of the trail. There were small bridges over the creek, but some looked old/weak and the creek is always cross-able without the bridges.
The trail ends at the east side of the bridge on the west end of
East Fork of the Lewis River Trail.
