Need to Know

This area is managed by the BLM so a NW Forest Pass doesn't work, but other multi-agency passes will. Otherwise, you can buy a day pass.

Description

This trail forms an accessible loop with the paved beginning of the Boulder Ridge Trail #783A. If you begin on this trail right after the bridge over the Salmon River, you'll come to a spur to a Cattail Marsh which offers some nice bird viewing options and a beaver house.

Farther along, you'll come to a shorter spur to a Beaver Dam and information on how beavers create the wetlands. The next spur leads to the Ghost Forest. The following stretch of the boardwalk passes through lush skunk cabbage which blooms in early spring. Finally, a last spur heads to the stream in which you can watch salmon during the right season.
