Need to Know

In winter there can be lots of water coming down parts of the trail and steep areas near the start can become dangerous.

Description

From the trailhead (marked with a carin) east of the parking area off Dinkey Creek Road, this is a difficult climb for the first mile. The second mile of this trail links in with a 4x4 trail and is easy to follow and stays fairly flat. The last mile starts the climb up to the bald mountain lookout tower but stays with the 4x4 trail for most of the way. The views at the top of the tower are exceptional on clear days. Expect to see off road vehicles on this route year round.

The trail is flagged and marked with stacked stones (carins) but can be difficult to navigate in the winter when there is snow cover.
