The visitor center parking lot has limited hours that change by the season. It is best not to park there if you'll be hiking past 5 PM.

Description

This trail can be completed in either direction. You can hike the wash first or the ridgeline first depending upon your preference. There is a little more shade through the canyon, as you can hug the canyon wall from time to time. The trail is hard to follow through the Pushwalla Palms, as previous visitors have all taken different paths. There are numerous palm clusters along the San Andreas Fault in this area and Pushwalla is a large oasis. The trip along the ridgeline is quite enjoyable as once you're up top, the grade levels out and the views are outstanding in all directions.
