“An "old-style" trail that keeps any hiker on their toes as it winds its way down through luxuriant native bush.
”
Flying Moa Track is a non-threatening hand-built trail designed to put a smile of the face of hikers. The trail twists and turns in unexpected ways as it descends from the top of Big Bush Track down to Sidewinder Trail.
Magnificent native beech forest and abundant bird life are features of the trail. Mid-way down, the trail winds across a small plateau featuring some surprisingly tight turns before starting a steeper descent to the bottom.
The start of the trail is accessed from either the west end of Big Bush Track or from the top of Kaka Track.
