Description

From the parking lot, you'll start heading up the Wilder Ridge Trail which is pretty western facing and exposed with some short steep sections. A little more than halfway up, you are rewarded with a beautiful bench spot and view point over looking the ocean and your climb.

After reaching the top of Wilder Ridge you start your descent along the fence line of the dump, but you'll still be over looking the ocean. Don't worry it doesn't stink!

After a couple hundred yards, the trail really starts ripping with more open sight lines through the grass. Once you've sort of leveled out towards Hwy 1, you start some undulating climbs and descents along a drainage through the park.

Wilder Ridge Loop provides many options as a loop connector route allowing you to access the Twin Oaks Trail, Zane Gray Cutoff, Enchanted Loop, Baldwin Loop, and more.

It was very clear today. We didn't see any fog, but that meant we baked in the hot sun. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen! 7.2mi — 3h 23m
