Description

This trail was redone extensively by Maricopa Parks staff in 2013. When connected to Toothaker, you can get in two challenging climbs. At the southern end, you have to look really hard to find any form of civilization. The valley views are awesome in the evening and morning.

The first half is a smooth rolling, and wide trail. You'll cross one major wash then head towards the Dysart Trail crossing. From here, it is uphill for a bit. There are a few points of letting up but it is mostly a good, solid climb - challenging but not overly rugged.

The backside is pretty rocky compared to the rest of the trail. Bonus, you might see one other biker or hiker near the start. Chances of seeing anyone else near the southern end are slim to none. This trail is best done when connected via Toothaker by returning back to the north or for an even longer roll, south to Gadsden.
