Family Friendly
The trails are mildly challenging, but there are a lot of off-trail picnic areas which make for good rest spots.
The trails are open unless muddy conditions exist. This is a shared-use trail with hikers going clockwise and mountain bikers going counter-clockwise.
Description
The 1886 Trail is a well-groomed, well-maintained, and well-marked trail with rolling terrain. The trailhead is the start of three separate trails; this trail (the "1886" trail) is the longest of the the three.
The trail is located in a City of Weatherford, Texas-owned property and maintained by the Weatherford Mountain Bike Club. Unlike some other mountain bike trails, these trails appear to co-exist nicely with hikers, runners, and mountain bikers.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of local wildflowers and some wildlife. Noticeably observed white-tailed deer.
