Be aware that this route is not a maintained trail and requires scrambling over boulders for the majority of the 1.7-mile hike.

Description

This route begins at the end of the Zuma Canyon Trail and heads north through Zuma Canyon as it follows Zuma Creek. Since this route is not a maintained trail, hiking this portion of the canyon can be slow and strenuous at times. Throughout the whole trail, you'll be hiking up and over a variety of boulders, some of which are the size of a truck. After hiking for 1.7 miles, likely at the slow pace of 1 mph, you'll finally reach the Zuma-Edison Fire Road. At this point the Zuma Canyon Route comes to an end, and you can either return along the same route or link up with the Zuma-Edison Fire Road to extend your hike.
