Start this hike at the gate on Newberry Creek Road. Go under the gate and continue up the road as it parallels Newberry Creek. About halfway up the road, you'll cross the creek and then begin the singletrack part of the trail. The trail can be overgrown in spots, but it has some good wintertime views! This section will switchback up the mountain to the parkway where it ends across from S Toe River Road.
