Description

The Orchard Loop Trail provides a short loop through the orchards that were planted during the early days of the ranch. To access the the trail, follow the Zinfandel Trail for approximately 0.25 miles, before the Orchard Loop Trail breaks off to the left.

The trail goes out through a field where old orchard trees grow along the side of the trail. The trail works its way around the hillside where a vista offers some limited views of the ranch and surrounding area. The trail drops steeply for a short distance until it comes to a split. A short connector trail drops steeply again to the left and ends up at Montebello Road.

Going to the right, the trail works its way around the hill, crosses the Bear Meadow Trail, and then begins to climb back uphill through the woods toward the Ricchetti Ranch Pond. The trail passes a small connector that runs around the seasonal pond and then ends back a little further down the Zinfandel Trail.

If you turn to the right, the trail heads back to the winery. If you follow the Zinfandel Trail to the left, you can continue your adventure by going further into the preserve.
