Family Friendly Lush, temperate rainforests make for a wonderful hike with children.

A Northwest Forest Pass or a Golden Passport (Eagle, Age, or Access) is required on each vehicle parked at the trailhead. Day & Annual Passes are available at Forest Service offices and vendors. Note: A $5 day pass is available at trailhead.

Overview

This trail provides an excellent opportunity to view the Olympics temperate rain forest. The first 1100ft. is barrier-free and accessible to individuals in wheelchairs. A great trail for families with children, and viewing scenery and wildlife.

Description

The Rain Forest Nature Trail is a short 1/2 mile nature trail with colored signs interpreting the Olympic Rain Forest.

Flora & Fauna

Dense old-growth conifer forest with lush understory of rainforest vegetation. The trail parallels Willaby Creek Gorge for a short distance which is home to ferns, moss, and lichens.
