Description

Head south from Upper Whipsnake Loop Trail. After a quarter mile, the trail splits. Turn right and descend steeply southwest. Views towards the next ridgeline are somewhat obscured by the shrubs along the trail. But as you turn north, you get spectacular views of Los Vaqueros Reservoir. The slopes burned in the 2020 SCU Lightning Complex Fire and you still see plenty of charred leafless shrubs. The trail steeply ascends again to reach the T junction where you turned right.
