This loop allows you to explore most of the Villeneuve saltworks natural reserve. You'll pass several ponds where birds can easily be seen (don't forget your binoculars!). The trail offers no shade so it's preferable to avoid it on a hot summer day.

At 2.7km/1.6mi, you'll meet a fork. If open, continuing with Sentier des Sauniers - Nesting Cutout is highly recommended to get a closer view onto the local wildlife. Otherwise, you'll have to make a detour to get back to the visitor center.

Many local birds can be spotted: flamingos, egrets, gulls and swans.
