The five mile (8km) trail begins at the parking lot and meanders around the lake for the first third. The next third takes the hiker down a bumpy path through dense woods, but the trail is always clear and obvious. The hike wraps up along a meadow near a small dam and finishes back at the parking lot. The whole trail is dotted with short, steep hills and sometimes mildly rocky terrain.

Typical northeastern broadleaf forest with a lake and plenty of water birds. Unlikely to see land animals but don't discount the possibility.
