Need to Know

Trails in the southern half of the park lack trail markers. This hiker strongly suggests taking a map with you for a more enjoyable experience.

Description

This section of the park is much less visited than the northern half. The start of this loop is a minimum 3.5 mile hike from Crockett Hills Staging Area, so plan on adding 7 miles to whatever hiking you do in the section of the park. The trail itself is relatively easy and can be characterized by windy, exposed grassy hills.

To the south there are nice views of Fernandez Ranch (John Muir Land Trust) and to the north you can see Point Pinole Regional Shoreline (EBRPD) with Mount Tamalpais in the far distance.
