Family Friendly
Difficult for inexperienced hiking families due to large rocks and inclines, but our experienced 4 and 6 year olds managed the whole round trip.
North trailhead is in a private subdivision and has only one parking spot.
Need to Know
Trail is open to dirt bikes and ATVs so keep an eye and ear open while out.
Description
Trailhead is in the Chippeway Park subdivision and is marked with a sign and gate. The trail itself is a wide doubletrack made of large rocks that insult climbs through the forest, then descends into a valley before climbing through switchbacks to the top of a ridge, intersecting with the Chippeway Trail T250. As you near the top of the ridge there are some fleeting views through the trees of surrounding ridge lines. The trail can be combined with all or part of the Chippeway Trail T250 for a longer out and back hike.
Flora & Fauna
Evergreen and aspen trees, wildflowers, birds, deer, squirrels, ground squirrels, butterflies and moths.
