A link-up of three doubletrack sections of the Rails-to-Trails repurposed railroad bed in Fresnal Canyon.

Features River/Creek · Views · Waterfall

Overview

Linking the Salado Canyon Trail (T128), Bridal Veil Falls Trail (T129), and Grandview Trail (T130) to create a mild 9-mile route with 100% navigable terrain that provides great exposure to the beautiful high desert canyon. This cruiser allows the feet to take over and the eyes to wander.

Need to Know

Parking is limited to 3-4 cars. Moderate use to heavier on the weekends. The falls are a popular place for visitors. There is a creek crossing just before/after the falls. You'll cross Fresnal Canyon Rd to continue onto the Grandview Trail when you hit the Bridal Veil Falls Trailhead.

Description

This route is an out-and-back on mostly gravel doubletrack. There are one or two short, moderate climbs on singletrack. The trail link-up includes a railroad trestle over a stream, creek crossing just before Bridal Veil Falls and some great views of the basin and surrounding canyons. The trails are well established and are easy to follow. With few obstacles and mostly gravel, you can cruise up and back down this one.

Flora & Fauna

High desert pinon and juniper as well as some scrub oak and cottonwoods near the water. Deer, cattle, hawks, rabbits, and rattlesnakes.
