From the parking lot the trail starts as an extremely wide grassy track that heads directly to Lake Nockamixon. Once you reach the lake the trail narrows to single width and takes you through a primarily evergreen forest. This area features views of the lake, and a surprising number of fallen trees. The trail then slopes upward and becomes rocky taking you through a deciduous forest. Once you reach the bridge over a small stream bear left and continue up the hill following the stream. The path to the right is unmarked and leads to the High Bridge Trail. This final section of the trail runs parallel to the High Bridge Trail and leads back to the parking lot.
