Family Friendly Short easy trail.

Closed Dec. 1 to Apr. 1 for nesting Bald Eagles.

Overview

This hike is a great option for those looking for a mellow day out. This short trail is part of the longer Heritage Trail and makes a nice out and back for the casual family outing. There is a small picnic area near the beginning of the trail and a short side loop if you want to tour the eagle's winter nesting ground.

Description

The trail starts at the end of Moore's Crossing Road and heads north along the Merrimack River. The trail meanders along, crossing a bridge built by the Bedford Rotary Club. It swings back and forth under the power lines as it heads north to its end at the Bedford Pumping Station.
