“A short path around an excavated Chacoan Greathouse.
”
Family Friendly
A flat gravel path that is stroller-friendly.
The trail is open daily, 7am to sunset. The park (and trails) are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
Need to Know
$25/vehicle/week pass is required. Restrooms and water are available at the visitor center; primitive restrooms are located at Pueblo Bonito.
Description
The path from the parking area is gravel and smooth and may be wheel-chair friendly. The path splits almost immediately; continue straight to the ruin.
Hungo Pavi was occupied from the 1000s to the 1250s. It has not been excavated, so while there are still plenty of visible walls, the area remains as it was when it was first discovered by explorers.
The path loops around the structure and returns to the trail junction near the parking area.
