Need to Know

Restrooms only near trailhead - no development other than a bridge along the trail.

Description

Long trail that can be cut shorter (± 5 miles each way) at primitive campsite #1. There is a second primitive campsite at the northern edge of the trail. This trail can be mountain-biked, but it's narrow and rocky - watch your derailleur! Great area for a weekend backpack trip. No fees to camp in primitive area.

The trail is marked with mile-markers (not accurate in their mileage) and blue circles/blazes on the trees. There is an interval that requires hiking along the highway - watch for traffic and walk on the small side area of the bridge! The swinging bridge is a great highlight of the trail about 3 miles from the trailhead, crossing over a small piece of the lake. The terrain past the bridge is more rugged on the eastern trail than the western part of the loop.
