Description

This entire area is commonly referred to as Sam's Throne, although the scenic lookout itself is the actual 'throne'. This is a singletrack, primitive trail that leads down a break in the Mt. Judea bluff. The trail begins near the second campsite from the entrance from the gravel road. Look for the green lantern holder near the campsite, as there is no formal trailhead. There are a handful of white reflective circle trail markers at the beginning of the trail only. Follow down the crack in the bluff and turn immediately left at the foot of the bluff. Continue following the foot of the bluff to find a number of rock shelters, fire rings, and often rock climbers. Continue onward past this trail to reach Sam's Throne.
