One way to get to Grandview Peak is to park at the south end of Session's Mountain Road, and then take this trail. Note that you need a vehicle with high clearance and 4-wheel drive to do this, unless you park a mile or two short, and then hike Session's Mountain Road to the start.

Note that this trail goes right through the Hardscrabble's private property, but the GWT is a right of way. Don't let them threaten you. Also, the signage in the area warning about private property does not make it at all clear that you have a right to be there. You're fine as long as you don't drop into the head of Mueller Park Canyon or the canyon to the northwest.

There is an old structure near the top of Meuller Park Canyon. Again, it's on private property, so keep out. I've ridden my motorcycle to it many years ago when it was legal, and I can tell you that there is nothing to see.
