Description

The trail starts at Oquirrh Wave Trailhead at Bates Canyon and follows a dusty ATV trail for 1.4 miles to the BLM fence with a green gate. The trail is shaded by aspen, scrub oak and spruce, making it a nice hike even in the hot weather. The trail has a gentle incline making it a fairly easy trip until around mile four. This is a nice place to stop, but if you are looking for a more difficult hike, there is a little trail that continues on and begins a steep climb that gets you very close to the summit. The trail suddenly ends at a fallen tree in about a half mile from Nelson Peak.
