It may be hard to get to this trail in the winter as roads are not plowed, and it may be muddy in the early spring.

Need to Know

Perfect area for wildlife watchers and hikers.

Description

From the red gate to Crooked Lake, the trail is in great shape, and the tread is clear to follow and flat. The trail traverses through a nicely wooded area with numerous bird sounds including honking. A little trail work is needed to complete the loop, but that doesn't interfere with getting to Crooked Lake. Trail may be damp in February, March, and April closer to Crooked Lake with seasonal rains. There is still area to hike, but you may have to go a little off trail to avoid mud.

Flora & Fauna

Woods are on both sides of the trail, so trees galore.
