Description

Starting at the gravel fire road portion of Bucktail Trail Road, the German Wilson Trail climbs sharply towards the ridge to the east of Halfmoon Mountain. The trail is initially non-technical, but very steep, as it cuts across the lower slopes of the gully.

About halfway up, it turns slightly to the right and heads straight up the drainage, steepening along the exposed rocks. Near the top, the trail flattens slightly before intersecting with the ridge along Halfmoon Lookout Trail. Take the right towards the lookout, or left towards Tuscarora - Pond Run Trail.
