This trail is open all year. On the rare occasions when it does snow, access to the Dagelma Trailhead may be difficult. There is poison oak along the trail at all times of the year, and ticks may be present during the warmer months. The road is paved to the trailhead, but there are no amenities and no potable water.

Description

This trail connects the Dagelma Trailhead with the Payette Trail #970 near Latgawa Cove Campground. The Calsh Trail #971 is a more moderate way to ascend or descend to the #970 than the Sinns Bar Trail #972. The #971 offers very good views of Applegate Dam.
