“This quick scramble up to the top of Dogtooth Peak provides amazing views of all of Dinkey Lakes Wilderness.”— Willie Virgen
Family Friendly A very approachable trail to a nice summit.
It starts out as a pretty mellow, dirt singletrack trail that occasionally hops over a slab of granite, until you get to the base of Dogtooth Peak. Here, you'll start to do a little bit of boulder hopping and some really easy Class 3 climbing. You'll hike through a small little wooded area that is actually a cool little hangout spot before you get to the first viewpoint just below the top of Dogtooth Peak.
The climb to the actual top requires slightly harder Class 3 climbing but is still very doable for the average hiker. Make sure to leave a note at the top in the coffee can!
