Description

The way to the Trovão waterfall is mostly hike along dirt roads. To get to the start of this road, it is approximately 1.5 km along the Morro Vermelho / Caeté road heading east from the town square. When you arrive at the junction with the "alternative road", turn right to the south.

From there, you'll hike along a dirt road was previously used to remove eucalyptus from the region (the eucalyptus trees are still there, but they are no longer cultivated). This road also leads to some sites in the region, but it is mainly used by Vale, as it is one of the roads leading to Fazenda do Gandarela. Therefore, it is possible that you'll meet with a vigilante or Vale employee during the activity, especially if hike here during the week. If encounter an employee, just let them know that you are hiking in the area.

It will be approximately 8 km along this type of road. The route is well-shaded and with a few gentle climbs. The Cachoeira do Trovão Spur Trail branches off to the south and will lead you to the Trovão waterfall.
