A superb rock-strewn descent from overlook.

Description

Typically you'll be approaching this trail from Whitetail Trail, for example in the Quebec Odyssey hike. Just before the final descent to the right on Pine Knob trail, take the left to check out the Pine Knob overlook. Then return to the descent to Lick Hollow Picnic area. The Lick Hollow Picnic area is nicely situated with ample parking and toilet. As an ascent from Picnic area its obviously more difficult, but definitely a worthwhile challenge.

Difficult trail but I found it easy to follow just watch your footing. It's a little bit of a challenge to find the overlook there at the end but w… 1.7mi — 1h 30m

I was not prepared. I wore the wrong coat. The trail was slushy and the trail slick. I should have come earlier in the morning when it was colder. 1.5mi
