Description

The Deer Creek Trail is a fun hike to do after you've done most of the other trails in the area. The trail is really eroded at the top and steep at the bottom. The middle section of the trail has some sections of steep and smooth singletrack right above Deer Creek.

The trail shares the beginning of Coal Creek Trail. Deer Creek Trail vaguely splits off from Coal Trail at the top of the hill and goes next to a small lake. he trail veers right then left through some thick willow and is hard to find. Look for cairns and make sure your on the trail before preceding. It's hard to stay on the trail in parts because of the erosion and random loose rocks and drops. After a little while, the trail is easier to see and hike. The last bit of trail is gnarly, steep, and loose. This trail makes for a great loop from Pass Creek Trail.
