Beginning from the crossing of Hampton Valley Road, the red-blazed advanced Trail starts mellow on a gravel road but quickly ramps up the difficulty level. The advanced Loop has climbs, rock stacks, slick rock slabs, switchbacks, berms, and rugged, challenging alternate lines.

Several shortcut lines exist to reduce the overall length of the Trail Boss Trail. If you're short on time, when in doubt, err on the side of heading downhill and back to Hampton Valley Road.

Though seemingly short in length (roughly 4 miles), this trail may slow you down a bit
