Description

Located 5 miles north of St. George, the Broken Mesa Rim Trail is quite rocky, traversing lava flows. The trail can be used year-round. It can be done as an 8-mile point-to-point with shuttle after adding Icehouse Trail, or as a 14.5-mile loop. If you do the loop option, you'll climb a total 1300ft.

There are some nice views along this trail.

View from atop the first and only climb - about a mile from the Mesa Rim Trailhead. This is as high as it gets!

A better example of what much of the trail is like. No fast going since the rocks are hiding to trip you up. Neat views to the southeast though.
