Description

The trail crosses through a huge variety of riparian vegetation from sagebrush to aspen trees before climbing through dense pine and fir forest to a high ridge. The views of the Pioneer Mountains from the top are outstanding. Loops are possible via the Imperial Gulch Trail, Mahoney Ridge Trail, or Mahoney Butte Trail, or connect to Mars Ridge for deeper exploration.

The trail starts at the parking lot at the end of Greenhorn Gulch Road. It ascends the ridge, gradually at first before the grade steepens somewhat about halfway to the top of the ridge. The trail descends slightly for the last mile before it ends at the junction with Red Warrior Trail.
