Description

The Cabot Trail exists for one reason: to get to the east shore of Jordan Pond. You can access the trail from the Charcoal Burner Trail or from the Perkins Trail. It is a nice side trip to see the pond. Not many people take this trail or care to see Jordan Pond, but it's a good place for lunch or to watch the sunset.

From the Charcoal Burner Trail, turn west onto the Cabot Trail marked with white discs. The trail descends through a thick forest with a lot of fern underbrush. The start/end at the Perkins Trail is a bit more level. If you enjoy relaxing at a pond with no other people, this is a good side trip.
