Description

Starting near Carolina Hemlock CG, this trail is one of the main access points to the Black Mountain Crest and helps form one of the only loops on this northern section of the Black Mountains. The trail is steep with a couple of good overlooks about midway. The trail is very technical, especially as you climb higher towards Deep Gap at its termination point.

Trekking poles highly recommended. This is a grueling 3.7 mile climb that is not for the inexperienced. 3.7mi
