This trail is called the Castro Peak Motorway, but like many "motorways" in the Santa Monica National Recreation Area, it is not paved. The road runs near the crest of the Santa Monica Mountains, so you'll have excellent views of the surrounding mountains, particularly towards the north.

Castro Peak Motorway continues towards the west past the intersection with Bulldog Motorway, but after 0.3 miles it reaches private property with a quite imposing gate, and you can't continue any further.
