Features Views

Family Friendly Explore the area where a number of old movies and TV shows were filmed such as The Planet of the Apes and M.A.S.H.

Overview

A scenic tour through the easily-accessible park north of Malibu with a rich history in film folklore.

Description

From the parking area off Park Entrance Rd near Stokes Canyon, head west on this wide, dirt path. This route meanders to the northwest for a mile before making its only climb on the northeast side of Century Lake Dam.

From the top, continue for another 1.3 miles to the set of the M.A.S.H TV series and explore the old relics like the iconic signpost and a number of informational placards with photos. From here, head back the way you came or continue further on the fire road as it bends to the right (north), ending at the west side of the park just after two-thirds of a mile from the M.A.S.H. set.

Had to wade across some water 3/4 into the hike, refreshing, but watch out for broken glass! 4.8mi
