Description

This trail travels along the west side of Duck River Reservoir, offering a nice trail with excellent scenery, occasional climbs and descents, and a few technical sections.

The west side of the Duck River Recreation Area is, in some respects, more challenging than the east side. Although this means there are more climbs and a few more rocky sections, it also means there are more descents. The trail offers nice views of the reservoir throughout.

This trail segment begins at the trailhead located at the dead end of CR-1651 on the west side of the Duck River Reservoir. The segment ends at CR-1669 near the bridge crossing the Duck River. Most often it is taken as an out-and-back, but it's possible to follow the North Trail to the East Side Trail for a twenty-mile hike.
