This is the first trail you'll meet if you take a right off the paved trail from the Smoke and Davey parking lot. This trail will lead you through hardwood forest westward toward the lake. It then runs parallel to the lake stacked above Neale's Trail, giving beginners a lakefront trail except for in the summer when overgrown vegetation makes lake views harder to come by.
This trail is a great option to connect to Mitchell's Mile for beginner hikers looking for some of the easier trails in the system.
