“A neat beginner loop that is fun to hike in either direction.”
— Neil Millar
An easy trail overall.
This is a 2.5-mile beginner friendly loop around the lake. It can be navigated in either direction as both have the fun of descending below the spillway and then climbing back up and out.
There are three stream crossings, two below the spillway and one up near the wall. The one up near the wall can be tricky if the side stream is flowing as the stepping stones are just below the surface and may be slippery.
Off 322 and then from either of the three parking areas. The trail goes right through the two that also have a boat launch and is a short trip down the road from the overlook area.
