From the southern MST junction, this is a brief singletrack to a gated logging road.

Hikers will pass a gate, cross Babb Creek on a road bridge, and begin following the narrow dirt South Elk Run Road. There is a three car pull off on South Elk Run Rd, about 100 yards north of Arnot Road. Do not park on Arnot Road - there is no shoulder, and it is a narrow road with tight curves and an angry landowner.

Rejoin the MST (here yellow blazed) at Hickory Ridge Rd intersection.
