Description

This trail goes up and over Merkle hill and bisects the Merkle Trail. It provide access to the Merkle Trail from a parking area on the north end of the hill, south of the Wind Cave Trail parking area. Unlike the Merkle Trail, this one is not accessible. There are rocky parts of the trail, switchbacks, and loose gravel.

Did this after completing Merkle Trail with the kids. More challenging but an enjoyable hike with beautiful views. Went back to our vehicle via Mer… 0.6mi
