Description

The trail begins from the Cerro San Luis Trailhead. The trailhead is located at the end of Marsh Street and is on the right side of the 101 South Ramp. During peak times, parking is tentative.

From the trailhead follow the main doubletrack trail uphill and to the left. There is a fork at the .5 mile mark. Follow the signs for Lemon Grove Loop, downhill and to the right. The trail narrows into singletrack and continues into a more vegetated/shady area.

At it's furthest point, the loop intersects with the Rock Garden Trail, which is on Madonna Inn property. There is an open gate between private property and city of San Luis Obispo property. Directly before this gate take a right and continue downhill into some sharp switchbacks. The trail continues into a grove of eucalyptus where a trail map kiosk is located, take a right at this fork. The rest of the trail is flowing singletrack that meanders gently down an exposed ridge into the parking lot.

This is a great loop in and of itself but is a fantastic connector to the trails on the backside of the Madonna Inn property.
