A great trail ascent/descent depending on which direction you hike with good views and slightly technical footing.

Description

This trail offers up another way to make loops in Doughton Park and is one of the four climbs/descents. I'd rate it as the second hardest of the four trails, but it is not much worse than Flat Rock Ridge Trail. The trail tops out near the Berringer Cabin at the Mountains to Sea Trail/ Bluff Mountain Trail. There are a couple viewpoints of the trail, and there is a really neat bench cut in a steep cove near the bottom that makes this trail memorable.

Nice hike mostly on the canopy. Some great views from the ridge. Marked as a bear habitat. Blue berries & blackberries on the trail. Stop at the stream to cool your toes on the way out. We turned around at the first Grand overlook 3mi in. Jul 9, 2018
