Family Friendly Pavilions are large and easily accessible via wheelchair. Each features a fans. access to electricity, a fire pit and proximity to a playground.

Betty's Lake is currently catch and release if you plan to fish. MDC rules apply to other ponds/lakes

Overview

Jacks Loop is a 4 mile path used by cyclist, horses, trail runners, and hikers. The path is mostly dirt with areas of rocky outcroppings. The trail winds in and out of prairie and forested areas with views of Betty's Lake.

Need to Know

Bring and use bug repellant and drinking water if you plan to tackle the whole trail at once. There is access to bathrooms at the pavilions and the visitor center, and water is available seasonally.

Description

The trailhead starts at the Visitor Center located off Hwy DD. Jack's Loop is a loop trail through forest and prairie with views of Betty's Lake. This route provides access to the pavilions located throughout the park. There is a 1 mile trail loop called Cattle Ridge which branches off the northwwestern corner of Jack's Loop for those looking to extend their hike. The trail is mostly singletrack dirt with a few areas of rock/gravel.

History & Background

The home and farm of Betty and Jack Broemmelsiek, this area was converted to a park and is now open to the public.
