Family Friendly While the gradients on this trail may prove challenging for younger children, the presence of an old mine site may make this hike worthwhile.

Description

Hike along a dilapidated roadbed to the site of the Brooklyn coal mine. Along the way, take a break from the trail's moderately graded, rolling terrain to peek through the trees for beautiful views of the New River Gorge.

Steady incline with the mine about half way up. Very enjoyable forested hike with wide trail. 5.8mi
